I previously worked as a hospital-based Paediatric Nurse and from 2014 onwards I worked closely with families whose infants had to attend A&E or be re-admitted to hospital for reasons relating to breastfeeding difficulties in their early days and weeks of life. In 2021 I was given the position of the hospital’s first Paediatric Infant Feeding Specialist Nurse.
It is the passion I have for supporting and working with breastfeeding women and their families that ultimately paved the way to me leaving the NHS in 2023 to pursue my IBCLC training which resulted in me receiving my qualification in the summer of 2024.

I am a fully insured practitioner with an up to date DBS certificate (2024). I am also up to date with my GDPR Training (2005), First Aid training (2025) and Safeguarding training (2024).My name is Claire Wise and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and previous Infant Feeding Specialist Nurse.
My current role is to provide community breastfeeding support in my Clinic to women who are having difficulties breastfeeding their baby or who have concerns about their breastfeeding experience.
My Clinic is situated in a town called Hinckley and I am very central to Leicestershire, Coventry and Warwickshire and their neighbouring areas.
I am obviously happy to provide Consultations for women outside of these local areas and for anyone who is prepared to travel to my Clinic.
I also provide antenatal sessions for pregnant women who wish to learn as much about breastfeeding before their baby arrives.
